This Sunday 2nd October I’m running The London Marathon!
This cutie is my son Joe Who is now 21!
Aged 11 Joe was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, which meant his pancreas had stopped working, so Joe for the last 10 years has been injecting man made insulin in order to stay alive.
Following the initial diagnosis and during the first difficult months of navigating life with with T1, as well as the fantastic diabetes team at RNCM (Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital)
JDRF were a great support and continue to be so
JDRF, is short for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which is more of a mouthful and after running 26.2 miles I’m not sure if I will be able to say it!
All being well and having stuck (mostly) to my training plan, this Sunday 2nd October I will just keep running to the finish line…
I know now is a tough time for people financially, but if you can spare the price of a takeaway drink to sponsor me in my marathon endeavour fundraising for JDRF, that would be really appreciated
