Quilters from around the world descend on the NEC in Birmingham this time every year (but not last year!) to display their awesome quilts, network and celebrate all things quilts. FoQ is just the tonic of colour, pattern and textures to inspire and motivate. Some quilts delight, some are more challenging, or thought provoking, all are beautifully executed in stitch and cloth. This year I noticed lots of bold joyous designs and numerous quilts highlighting global issues, particularly with reference to the last 18 months… Here are a few of my quilt highlights;
Apologies for not including all the exhibitors details with these images, as I always am drawn to the visuals. Find more quilts details on Festival of Quilts & The Quilter’s Guild websites.
Enjoy your week, whatever the Great British summer weather x

Due to COVID-19 we are unable to host a physical event on the scale that has previously proved successful at the Dovecot Studios in central Edinburgh. This year it’s more important than ever to celebrate and support our vibrant community of textile makers and designers from around the world, so with this in mind we would like to present to you 50+ fantastic makers from around the world with links to their selling sites.
Participating makers have all agreed that 15% of all online sales from CLOTH#20 will go to Dovecot, a registered charity who are a vital resource in the landscape of creativity – specifically tapestry making – both nationally and internationally, so for track and tracing purposes please quote ‘CLOTH20’ in all communication with the makers you wish to purchase from. Thank you and enjoy!
How it works:
1. Explore our curated list of some of the most exciting makers here.
2. Click on the button in each entry to head straight to their online stores.
3. When you make an order please quote ‘CLOTH20’ at checkout, in their comments box or when contacting the maker to let them know that we sent you.
