Scraps, A Dachshund Draft Excluder Woof!

By lisawato / November 14, 2016 / Comments Off on Scraps, A Dachshund Draft Excluder Woof!

On the second week of festive offers, my true love brought for me…

Scraps, a Daschund Draft Excluder. Woof!

Scraps is inspired by a dachshund draft excluder my Granny had. I have updated him for the 21st century providing you with a friendly and practical dog companion that will stop the drafts under your door, but will also look cute perched atop a sofa, dresser, bed or mantlepiece. From the tip of his nose to his tail, Scraps measures 90cm. Scraps is made from fabrics that I use in my quilts, so he is 100% British designed and made. And this week Scraps can be yours for £39, including free P&P in GB.

Thinking about the C-word, if you are starting to collate your Christmas lists (or is that just me?) and pondering postage for all of your festive gifts, here is the link to the Post Office’s last posting dates.

Next weeks festive offer is for my truly unique Harris Tweed Patchwork cushions. Enjoy your week x

It’s UK #WoolWeek

By lisawato / October 10, 2016 / Comments Off on It’s UK #WoolWeek

Celebrate all things wool this week, including of course my deliciously cosy Harris Tweed Quilts and Yorkshire Woollen Blankets, all of course authentically 100% British made. Why do I choose to use wool in my distinctly British quilts, cushions and more? Apart from wishing to champion the excellent and great British woollen industry, I like the warming texture of wool and it’s a natural breathable fibre.

Check out all the exciting events going on (in London), particularly a rather splendid Wool BnB programmed by The Campaign for Wool

Enjoy your woolly week (in a good way) Baa!

This time last week…

By lisawato / September 7, 2016 / Comments Off on This time last week…

It was my first visit to Burghley Horse Trials last week and it didn’t disappoint. The Country Living Makers Marquee and my stand within it were ideally situated for excellent viewing of the eventing on Saturday. As it was just me manning my stall throughout, I didn’t have any opportunity to investigate the site, but I was kept up to date with competitor developments as thankfully a fellow exhibitor Claire knows what’s what and who’s who in eventing.

And in between the highly enjoyable activity of people and dog watching throughout the four days, I had some excellent chats with exhibitors & visitors, and made some sales. Thank you to all my Burghley customers.

A Cornucopia of Quilts

By lisawato / August 15, 2016 / Comments Off on A Cornucopia of Quilts

A cornucopia of quilts were to be found at The Festival of Quilts 2016 last week. Quilters from around the world descend on the NEC in Birmingham this time every year to display their awesome quilts, network and celebrate all things quilts. I visited on the opening day and it is just the tonic of colour, pattern and textures to inspire and motivate. I was particularly impressed to see my friend Maria Thomas deservedly showcased in The Fine Art Quilts exhibition. Here are some of my quilt highlights;

The Festival of Quilts is similar to the Olympics for quilters, or maybe the world athletics championships, as it’s a yearly event! I am so proud of TeamGBs achievements in Rio. It’s addictive watching all the competitors in all these live events! Go TeamGB
