Lisa Watson Blog
I have been keeping myself busy to avoid the Winter blues. I’m now looking onward to Spring and in the meantime keeping myself distracted by stitching…a wedding dress quilt commission. One off quilt commissions are always welcome. If you wish me to make you a quilt from cherished old clothes, or from your own special stash of fabric, I can work with you to design a quilt to the size&style that fits you&your home. I can also stitch a quilt (-floor cushion-tent-laptop cover-you decide) as a special gift to celebrate a significant event, or I can make a personalised quilt just for you or for a loved one.
Visit my commissions page for ideas and get in touch with me to discuss your quilt commission further.

A couple of weeks ago whilst exhibiting at Top Drawer I had the next stand to Madeleine, a charming swede who lives on the Isle of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides, as you do and as well as working in a local weaving mill produces covetable knitwear via Verisimilitude. During the three days of the show we had more than a few interesting discussions including one on
which I blogged about last spring and Madeleine also introduced me to the swedish word Lagom…’just the right amount’
I don’t know if we have all reached peak hygge now. Personally I don’t think you can never have enough cosiness for your home, which is why I make distinctly British quilts, cushions and more… However, I am drawn to the appeal of Lagom since it also reflects my own wish to make quality goods made to last, as well as create designs that are just right for the modern home.
